COMMITTEES
El Día de los Niños Planning Committee: We work to bring together our annual event in which tradition and education can be celebrated amongst our children. We focus on providing the community with needed information and resources to help with parenting skills, health, and education, as well as providing families with the opportunity to celebrate childhood in a fun and safe environment.
Familias Unidas Con Niños Con Cuidados Especiales (FUNNE): FUNNE aims to embrace and empower families to become self-sufficient through education and overcoming barriers faced in obtaining care and support for the whole family. Our main objective in achieving this goal is to offer support groups and education seminars for Latino families in Spanish every two months. Families will learn how to overcome the obstacles of language barriers, disparities in access to care, and isolation within the community.
Formando Lazos Familiares (FLF): FLF will provide education and build awareness by promoting early intervention of domestic violence in the Latino community.
Media Awareness Committee: This committee will utilize various media outlets - radio stations including La Movida, newspapers, etc. - and create a calendar of events such as guest radio speakers. All projects we design will depend on the needs of the community and will act as a communication outlet to raise awareness of issues faced by the Latinx community.
